To achieve world-class performance, it is essential to have the necessary skills available at the plant. CPI is regularly invited to conduct technical and interpersonal skills assessments. Once the skills gaps have been identified, training can be arranged and focused specifically on those areas that will impact plant profitability.
Training is much more than sitting in a classroom listening to presentations and as such CPI offers a broad range of specific training and development programmes in a variety of teaching formats. We design our courses around the specific audience of the training, the location of the training, the specific objectives of the training and the manner in which the effectiveness of the training will be measured.
We will design our course around your requirements. For example, plant based training involves less disruption to the daily routine, and will permit more people to attend, whereas training at a remote location with a mix of personnel from other locations ensures a more focused approach and presents the opportunity to exchange experiences with others.

Training individuals in specific jobs
Duration - 6 weeks in two stages
MODULAR PROCESS STAGE TRAINING
Training groups of individuals in specific processes e.g. mill testing and cooler evaluation
Duration - 2-day on-site seminars with practical work
TRAIN THE TRAINER PROGRAMMES
A group of individuals from a plant, group of plants or technical centre is given a short, intensive training programme by a CPI specialist on a particular topic
Duration - 3 days
An e-mail support service is provided for 12 months for the trainers to ask for clarification of any of the topics
PLANT/PROCESS SPECIFIC CEMENT OPERATIONS COURSE
A technical review of key areas relevant to a particular plant or process type
Duration - 3-5 days
GENERAL CEMENT OPERATIONS COURSE
An intensive course in the technical and operational aspects of cement manufacture
Duration - 2 weeks
CEMENT TECHNOLOGY FOR EXECUTIVES AND SENIOR MANAGERS
Specifically for those executives with little or no knowledge of the technical aspects of cement manufacture focused on the key profit drivers of cement manufacture

PROFITABILITY AND PERFORMANCE FROM CEMENT OPERATIONS
CPI also hosts an open course each year at Gatwick, near London. The course is 5 days long and is entitled "Profitability and Performance from Cement Operations".
