RSS, short for Really Simple Syndication, is a way to keep tabs on what your favorite Web sites are publishing. The advantage? Instead of wasting time refreshing your countless bookmarked Web sites, new content on those sites comes directly to you.
HOW DO I START USING RSS?
You set up an RSS reader on your computer and then select any Web site that offers an RSS feed - say, www.cementperformance.com. If you point your RSS reader at http://www.cementperformance.com/main/en/news_rss.xml, the reader will display headlines and previews of the most recently published CPI news stories and clickable links that will show you the full article.
Of course, you'll need an RSS reader. Browser-based news readers, like Google’s, let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications, like Feeddemon, let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your e-mail using Outlook, or keep it on a web-based service like Hotmail.
